Epic Game Business City will open the iOS and Android platform for autonomous distribution in August Posted on 03/18/2026 By plottips Steve Ellison, Managing Director of Epic Games and Business City, revealed during the Games Developer ‘ s Congress that, as of August this year, mobile-end distributors will be able to launch the game on the iOS and Ando platforms. He indicated that the current focus was on building it into an application shop focused on games, but that the future might also include practical tools, development and creators related to games. At the time of the announcement, Epic had just won the proceedings with Apple and had reached a global settlement agreement with Google to reduce the cost of the shop to 20 per cent (plus 5 per cent for processing) and to eliminate the anti-direction clause, which was currently pending approval by United States judges. “We are fully convinced of the market potential in this regard. We have done quite a lot of tests before making that commitment. We know that a group of players are very interested in this and that this group is not small.” He added: “There is still a way to go to achieve the Goals. The reconciliation agreement with Google has helped us to develop on the Android platform. But there are still many obstacles on the iOS platform, and we need to overcome them before we can really see results. However, there are already many encouraging signs on the Android platform. I do not think that the iOS platform will have a high rate of adoption due to such obstacles as the CTF costs (core technology fees) and the CTC costs (core technology commission) in places such as Japan. However, on the Andre platform, many unexpected participants are expected to be present, while the main factory, which we have been negotiating, has acted.” In January of this year, Epic began to launch a social framework aimed at connecting PC, Android and iOS stores. The platform plans to provide social and cross-platform functions, including headline chats, player information and private correspondence, and will be open to developers later this year through the Epic online service, so that they can integrate these functions into their own games. Elison stated that Epic also planned to add voice chats in June. Game Patches
